The Rutherford Hill Estate features a world-class winery with state-of-the-art equipment, including a 'Winery Within a Winery'. This desirable feature incorporates small tanks and enables our team to focus on individual lots with unique characteristics that are worthy of their own bottling.

 

Vineyards

Our 130 acres of vineyards across Napa Valley reflect the region's diversity of soils and microclimates that allow the winery to consistently show the best of the appellation for every vintage. Pope Valley, on the warmer eastern edge of the Vaca Mountains, yields Merlot that is densely concentrated with flavor and ripe tannins. In Rutherford, our vineyard on Mee Lane offers a touch of "Rutherford Dust" — an ineffable, exquisite expression of place — to our Cabernet Sauvignon and in various blends. Lastly, the Rutherford Hill Estate Vineyard, with its rocky, hillside soils, brings intensity and structure to the varietals planted high above the valley floor. 

 

Caves

Rutherford Hill has one of Napa Valley's most extensive cave systems that run nearly a mile long.  The caves offer ideal climatic conditions for aging our elegant wines, the high humidity and low, constant temperatures produce an environment that minimizes evaporation and human interaction allowing them the age gracefully.
